We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at 3A Renos Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish. Additionally, they will instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and perform various tasks related to drywall installation and finishing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install drywall sheets, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening
  • Apply successive coats of compound, sanding seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Instruct apprentices in drywall installation and finishing techniques
  • Supervise other workers, ensuring efficient and safe work practices
  • Perform various tasks related to drywall installation and finishing, including cutting, fitting, and installing drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency and apply to surfaces
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Utilize laser alignment system
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent exposure to dust, noise, and physical demands. They will be required to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in confined spaces.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Will train
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
