As a Youth and Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social-emotional and behavioural interventions, school and community connectedness, regular attendance, and successful transitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based strategies and interventions to enhance students' social, emotional, and behavioural functioning in consultation with other support team members.
  • Support grade-to-grade transitions, particularly grade 7 to 8 transitions.
  • Encourage regular student attendance at school.
  • Liaise with school-based professionals and community agencies to provide comprehensive support.
  • Support students in developing self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Liaise with families and caregivers to engage in out-of-school time activities that promote student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided to students.
Requirements:
  • Completion of grade 12 plus 2 years of full-time equivalent post-secondary education or a diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology and ability to assess students' behavioural and social-emotional needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Occupational First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
