Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist to join our team at Randstad Canada. As an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for the procurement and delivery of designated Suppliers' products in support of the company's business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Purchase Orders, Transportation, Customs clearance, and Receiving to ensure procedural and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide support for Suppliers and associated Product Managers, and act as the liaison between Suppliers and other company departments.
  • Enter Purchase Orders in the company's ERP system and send to Suppliers.
  • Follow-up on credit-hold or profit-hold issues that may delay the purchase of a needed product.
  • Interact with preferred carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of incoming stock.
  • Interact with Customs Brokers to provide necessary customs clearance documentation.
  • Provide Arrival Notices and other documentation to the various warehouses.
  • Accurately enter Inventory Receipts into the ERP system.
  • Maintain Supplier-specific information in the company's ERP system.
  • Review the Supplier Open Purchase Order report and take appropriate action to avoid missed shipments to customers.
  • Link open Customer Orders to POs and regularly review the Open Order Report.
  • Ensure receipt of Supplier Order Acknowledgements clearly confirming the price to be paid and the expected date of shipment.
  • Handle Order maintenance, provide customer ETA updates, and complete invoicing for Direct Orders.
  • Contribute to inventory management by reconciling inventory sites as needed.
  • Act as the customer's champion in concert with other company departments to ensure that the customer's needs are met or exceeded.
  • Provide inside administrative support for Product Managers to limit the interruption of service to customers.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality after-sales service to ensure that the customer's company experience remains positive.
  • Contribute to the standardization, documentation, and maintenance of working procedures to ensure optimization and consistency in the execution of tasks.
  • Provide internal support by executing any other assigned responsibilities, including backup for colleagues when needed.
Requirements
  • College diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years previous work experience in a customer service, purchasing, or inventory management position.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in demand planning.
  • Experience working with transportation and customs.
