Job Description

As a Chief Open-Source Intelligence Researcher at the University of Waterloo, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing open-source information to support research security efforts. Your primary focus will be on identifying and mitigating potential risks to the institution through data-driven analysis.

You will work closely with the research security team to provide regular updates and insights on emerging trends and threats. Your expertise in open-source intelligence gathering and analysis will be essential in developing effective strategies to ensure compliance with National Security Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze open-source information to support research security efforts">
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the institution through data-driven analysis">

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as business, administration, or international relations">
  • Extensive project management skills using identified project management best practices">
  • Minimum two to three years of professional work experience related to analytical assessment in academic research or industry settings">
  • Experience in a post-secondary academic setting is an asset">
  • Demonstrated experience in a research environment, preferably at a major university or college, government office, and in administrative procedures and computer applications">
  • Strong knowledge of research security and open-source intelligence gathering">
  • Experience in working with advanced analytics software and tools">
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills">
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team">
