About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Merchandising and Customer Service Manager to join our team at Michaels, a leading arts and crafts retailer. This role is based in Store - EDMONTON-SOUTHEAST, AB.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will lead and support inventory management and merchandising standards and maintenance, plan for and provide a well-merchandised and in-stock store for customers to shop, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Manage and support truck processes and lead teams to ensure standards are met, achieving KPI's and managing teams to achieve their role KPI's.
  • Execute and support the planogram process (POG's) to standard, manage and execute shrink and safety programs, and maintain seasonal sets and the feature space to visual merchandising standards.
  • Lead as Manager on Duty (MOD), assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, observing, and training new Team members, supporting Talent Development activities, participating in Performance Mgmt. activities of your team.
  • Serve customers by acknowledging them, helping locate products, and providing solutions.
Requirements
  • Retail merchandising and customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, regularly bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment

This role is based in a public retail store setting, taking care of customers; all public areas are climate-controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.

Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
