About the Position

ELYSIS is currently seeking a highly skilled Commissioning and Start-up Technician to join our team in the Saguenay Lac-St-Jean region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply the organization's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles by adopting a positive attitude that us zero by choice;
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the plant's various equipment in a preventive maintenance process and in a team-oriented work environment;
  • Actively participate in problem-solving as well as technology improvement strategies with the process team and other stakeholders;

About You

  • Stand out with an uncompromising commitment to working safely;
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, commissioning/start-up;
  • Possess a DEC in Electrical Engineering Technology – Automation and Control or Electrodynamics or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance or any other combination of relevant studies or experience;
  • Possess a remarkable capacity for resourcefulness and autonomy;
  • Plant start-up experience would be an asset;
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment and interest in high technology;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Skills and interest in developing, coaching and mentoring less experienced resources;
  • Knowledge in aluminum operations is an asset;
  • Experience in manufacturing networking and IT infrastructure is an asset;
  • Experience with Solidworks an asset;
  • Have a C license is an asset;
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written. ELYSIS is a global company, and the duties of this position may require collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Québec.

About Us

ELYSIS is a Canadian company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. It also has facilities in Alma and Jonquière, Quebec. At the Alma site, efforts to eliminate all direct greenhouse gas emissions from the aluminum electrolysis process made significant progress in June 2021, with the construction of the first industrial-scale prototype cells using inert anode technology. At the Jonquière site, the team works on perfecting the technology at the ELYSIS Research and Development Centre, located within Rio Tinto's Jonquière Complex.

Position based in Saguenay Lac St-Jean: possibility of 80% travel to client sites.
