Job Title: Direct Service Worker - Post Majority Unit

At Southeast Child Family Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Direct Service Worker to join our team in a Post Majority Unit role.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide protection and prevention services to young adults and families in a designated First Nations community.
  • Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care with prescribed timelines.
  • Intervene in crisis situations in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources for clients and team members.
  • Participate in Agency events, training, and flexible hours as required.
  • Facilitate group work, team building, and decision-making, while taking initiative, problem-solving, leading, planning, coordinating, and facilitating meetings.
  • De-escalate conflict and provide solutions.
  • Manage case and file documentation with attention to detail.
  • Work in a team-based environment and take on independent responsibilities.
  • Travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Experience conducting investigations, gathering and analyzing information, and implementing appropriate action.
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous culture, rural cultural environment, and relevant legislation.
  • Crisis intervention, child protection investigations, and assessment of high-risk situations.
  • Substance abuse, family violence, child abuse/neglect, grief and loss issues, and community resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and report writing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CFSIS, and IM.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and satisfactory background checks.
