At Southeast Child Family Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Direct Service Worker to join our team in Bloodvein City Unit.
Job Summary:We are looking for a professional who can provide protection and prevention services to children and families in the designated First Nations community. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing caseloads, working in crisis situations, and establishing partnerships with community resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide protection and prevention services to children and families in the designated First Nations community.
- Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care within prescribed timelines.
- Work in crisis situations in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources for clients and team members.
- Participate in Agency events, training, and work flexible hours as required.
- Facilitate group meetings, build teams, and make decisions.
- Manage case files, documents, and reports.
- Travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as required.
- Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of two years' experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
- Experience conducting investigations and gathering information.
- Indigenous culture and rural cultural environment knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Child and Family Services Act, Adoption Act, and Indigenous child welfare practices.
- Crisis intervention, child protection investigations, and assessment skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office, CFSIS, and IM skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
