About the Position

Reporting to the Zone Manager, the Community Health Board Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the community health boards to achieve their mandate as outlined in the Health Authorities Act and regulations. This position is part of the Public Engagement and Community Health Boards Support team, contributing to the facilitation of a collaborative community health planning cycle, using a population health approach and applying the principles of community development and health promotion. The Community Health Board Coordinator is responsible for organizational development, assisting with Board recruitment, volunteer support, training, and other functions that contribute to the successful ongoing operations of Community Health Boards.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor's degree in Health education/promotion, public health, community development, adult education or a combination of relevant education and work experience in community health or community development. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of related experience, with a strong background in community-based organizations, groups, or projects. Additionally, knowledge and demonstrated application of the principles of health promotion, the prevention continuum, and population health assessment are essential. Experience in program planning and evaluation methods, community health planning, community development, and community or public engagement are also highly valued.

  • Organize workload and meet deadlines.
