Job Title: Automotive Body Shop Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Body Shop Supervisor to join our team at MD Automotive Repairs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of the body shop. This includes preparing production reports, supervising workers and projects, coordinating activities, recruiting and hiring staff, training, and preparing bids.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare production and other reports to ensure efficient shop operation
  • Supervise workers and projects to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to optimize shop productivity
  • Recruit and hire staff to meet shop needs
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure staff proficiency
  • Prepare bids to secure new business
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure accurate pricing
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to manage shop operations
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to maintain a safe work environment
  • Recommend personnel actions to ensure effective team management
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain shop inventory
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other work units
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in an automotive body shop
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week
