Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Emergency Department team. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide culturally competent care to patients with complex care needs, assessing their condition and reporting changes to the team.
- Administer and document therapeutic interventions and medications according to policies and standards.
- Act as a patient advocate, promoting patient-centered care and safety.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Coronary Care Course 1 or commitment to completing within 1 year of hire.
- Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, and documentation skills.
- Practical Nurse Diploma from an approved nursing program.
- Membership in the Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO).
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience working as a Registered Practical Nurse in an acute care setting within the past 3 years.
- Experience working with electronic medical records.
