About the Role

Kainos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to lead our multi-skilled agile teams in designing and delivering high-quality solutions that delight our customers and impact the lives of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with customer architects to agree on functional and non-functional designs, advising on estimated effort, technical implications, and complexity.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small team of staff, focusing on employee performance and career development.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the team in solving challenging problems.
  • Advise on new technologies and approaches, sharing knowledge and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in delivering software designs for multi-tiered modern software applications.
  • Understanding of whole solution architecture concepts and ability to communicate and negotiate with customer architects.
  • Prioritization of non-functional concerns for customers and experience incorporating these into application design.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.
  • Ability to simply and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation, and presentations.
  • Effective decision-making in fast-moving delivery environments.
  • Proven ability in managing, coaching, and developing junior team members and the wider community.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing technology delivery challenges, such as projects or multi-team programs.
  • Proactive development of business across an account with sales and account managers.
  • Experience in managing others, setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews.
  • Able to prioritize time across multiple major projects.
  • Active sharing of thoughts and views on technology.
  • Participation in technology communities.
