Job Summary

The Central Communications department at Southlake Regional Health Centre is responsible for handling internal and external inquiries related to locating physicians, staff, and patients. This includes face-to-face interactions at the Information desk and phone inquiries. The department is also accountable for initiating responses to emergency codes and situations immediately.

Key Responsibilities

The Central Communications department is responsible for the effective dispatching and coordination of Environmental Services and Transport Services staff. This includes housing keys and badges for staff sign-out and assisting with meeting room bookings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a professional and courteous telephone manner. You should also have knowledge of hospital information systems and be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FIPPA laws. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate problem assessment skills, commitment to customer service and teamwork, and individual leadership skills.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Grade 12 education and at least one year of current related experience in a Call Centre environment. Previous experience in a hospital setting is an asset, as is experience on a console and paging system. Regular attendance and the ability to work shift work, weekends, and overnights are also required.
