Cyber and Tech Underwriter/Underwriting Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to drive the growth of our client's Cyber and Tech Underwriting department. This role will focus on marketing, underwriting, and strategic management of key products, including Tech E&O, Property, CGL (P&C Package), and Umbrella/Excess.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite new business and manage renewals for select accounts, analyzing risks and negotiating policy terms to meet growth, retention, and profitability targets.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the National Technology Practice strategy, aligning with the company's objectives.
  • Participate in industry discussions and contribute to strategic planning, staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends.
  • Prepare and present portfolio metrics, such as rate, retention, and bookings, during regular team meetings.
  • Serve as a key resource and authority within the Technology team, providing expertise and guidance.
  • Review, negotiate, and draft policy terms, including manuscript wordings, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Drive the expansion of the client's broker and client base through marketing initiatives, product analysis, and service promotion, highlighting our Technology Industry solutions.
  • Ensure meticulous organization and documentation of underwriting files, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with report preparation, presentations, and special projects to support the success of the National Technology Practice.
  • Stay informed about key broker and market intelligence developments, providing insights and recommendations to management.
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of experience underwriting commercial P&C and Tech E&O insurance.
  • Post-secondary education with relevant insurance designations/education is a plus.
  • Proficiency in understanding policy wordings and their implications on claims.
