Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals experiencing problematic substance use. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care services to clients in a recovery-oriented and person-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities- Assess clients' physical and psychosocial needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring, as well as educate clients and families on health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
- Participate in crisis intervention, including responding to emergencies such as drug overdose, heart attack, and assaultive behavior, and provide emotional support to clients and families.
- Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify and resolve client/family issues, and participate in client care conferences, rounds, and staff meetings.
- May be required to provide general and crisis counseling to clients, including short-term follow-up in accordance with approved treatment plans.
- Graduation from an approved Nursing Program with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of approved addictions or substance use training, or substance use certificate program, and one year's recent related experience working in an addictions environment with individuals with substance use disorders.
