OVERVIEW

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in the development and implementation of research finance infrastructure within the Department of Research & Innovation at Michael Garron Hospital. This individual will be responsible for leading financial analysis and supporting financial modeling, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance in internal and external financial reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis to identify significant variances and obtain variance explanations.
  • Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to support research operations.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Services team to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to research teams and investigators.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Canadian recognized accounting designation (CPA). Must be active and in good standing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with investigators, research personnel, and staff.
