Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Position

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a part-time capacity. The successful candidate will provide specialized services in the management of patient care, working as a member of the inter-professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose, and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform specific procedures within the legislated scope of practice
- Collaborate with the inter-professional team to ensure timely response to patient needs and provide direct patient care focusing on health promotion and maximizing patient safety and function
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Primary Care or Adult Nurse Practitioner program with a minimum of 3 years of geriatric experience
- Able to prescribe controlled substances as authorized by CNO
- Master of Nursing, Current Extended Class certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound working knowledge of hospital nursing functions, current needs in nursing, health care, and geriatric care
