Food Service Worker II

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker II to join our team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of duties within a Food Service Operation, including portioning and serving meals and beverages, setting tables and trays, and collecting and unloading food service wagons.
- Wash and peel vegetables and fruit, prepare items such as meat, fish, or poultry for procedures, and count, weigh, and/or measure ingredients for assigned food preparation areas.
- Prepare beverages and food items, wash dishes and utensils, and perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and washing floors, cleaning counter tops and tables.
- Assist with clerical duties, including answering the telephone, running diet sheets off the computer, and writing information on menu cards.
- Receive supplies and check goods received against invoices, and take and record temperature of hot foods at point of service.
- Grade 10 education, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Food Safe Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, deal with others effectively, and physically carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
