Job Summary

EnerSys Delaware Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer NPI to join our Power Systems Engineering team in Burnaby. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the process of bringing new products to market through seamless collaboration with contract manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the point of contact for contract manufacturers and engineering, coordinating with design, development, and contract manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contract manufacturers to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to manufacturing processes, quality, or delivery; take ownership of problems and responsibility for solutions.
  • Ensure smooth transition of new products from design to full-scale production.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to contract manufacturers during the NPI phase.
  • Conduct on-site visits to contract manufacturers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on supporting contract manufacturers.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with external partners.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Altium, etc).
  • Ability to travel to contract manufacturing sites as required.
  • Experience with successful developments using V&V (Verification and Validation) processes, with good command of the toolchain and the SW packages used to manage and document the process.
  • Intermediate capabilities in Syteline (or another ERP), PLM, and MS-Office applications.
  • Detailed understanding of engineering documentation including schematics, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail.
  • Good English communication skill both verbal and written.
  • Creative problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AC and DC Power Modules design and applicable codes and standards – telecom product experience is a plus.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Experience in Product Development stage-gate processes.
  • Experience or domain knowledge of advanced processes or practices (i.e., Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Accelerated Life Testing, etc.) is a big plus.
