About the Role
Verathon is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Operations Team in Burnaby, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manufacturing engineers to achieve production goals and objectives.
- Sustain and support manufacturing engineering aspects on the production lines within the facility.
- Define NPI project timelines, set priorities, and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Ensure the team is aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities.
- Provide guidance and support to the team in making informed technical decisions, staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging technology.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Work effectively with production team, product development engineering team, and quality team to provide support and resolve process and technical issues.
- Create and execute verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA) of product equipment, processes, and designs.
- Review and update work instructions, ATP's, travelers, and other internal documentation.
- Develop automated or semi-automated processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Review new designs and provide Design for Manufacturing input to Design Engineering.
- Perform product Failure Investigations and other CAPA related activities.
- Ensure consistent professional communications with all VMCA team members.
- Support VMCA's QMS to establish and maintain effective quality assurance processes and compliance to the International Standards: ISO13485, Canadian Medical Device Regulations (CMDR, SOR 98-292), FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR, 21 CFR Part 820), and the Medical Device Directive (MDD93/42/EEC).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Required from EGBC (can work with candidate if they have an equivalent certificate).
- 3 years in a leadership or managerial role in a manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years experience in a manufacturing or equivalent engineering environment.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- High level organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Application of Lean and 6 sigma Manufacturing principles (Green Belt preferred).
- Leadership and Mentorship skills required.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- The ability to read and interpret procedures and drawings.
- The ability to remain open to new ideas and to maintain a positive attitude with a focus on quality.
What We Offer
Verathon offers a competitive salary range of CDN $84,624 - $140,000, depending on skills, experience, and location. Full-time non-sales employees are eligible for Verathon's annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
