Job Title: Sessional Lecturer - Human Service

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach the course HUMS - Introduction to the Family in Human Service in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care and a minimum of five years of professional experience working in a social work or child and youth care capacity with families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach the course HUMS - Introduction to the Family in Human Service
  • Develop and deliver culturally appropriate curricula
  • Build student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
  • Integrate Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience working in a social work or child and youth care capacity with families
  • Successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions
  • Ability to demonstrate experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
  • Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
