Job Summary

The Director of Finance is a key leadership role within Centurion Asset Management Inc., responsible for managing all finance and accounting-related duties. This includes the completion of internal and external financial reports, coordination of the year-end audit process, and ensuring adherence to internal financial controls and IFRS standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in external reporting and corporate finance. Leadership and managerial skills, as well as extensive knowledge of IFRS and tax laws, are essential for this role. Additional requirements include a bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting, CPA designation, and 5 years of experience in the real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Control and Risk Management: Ensure efficient management of financial functions, develop and monitor compliance of internal financial controls, and oversee the preparation of timely bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements and notes to the financial statements, participate in the completion of Management Discussions and Analysis, and assist with the quarterly portfolio valuation process.
• Operational Accounting: Work closely with the Executive Vice President of Residential Operations and the Director of Asset Management to ensure financial information is provided on a timely and accurate basis, resolving issues related to revenue and property accounting as necessary.
• Compliance and Audit: Maintain relationships with Auditors, act as the main point contact for any audits of Centurion related vehicles, and maintain established audit systems and procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of a bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Finance and/or Accounting;
• CPA designation;
• 5 years of external reporting and corporate finance experience; public and/or private real-estate industry experience preferred;
• Demonstrated high level of leadership and managerial skills;
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, tax laws and regulations;
• Excellent command of Excel with strong verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills;
• Experience with Yardi property management accounting system considered an asset.
