Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to join our team at Bureau Veritas North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the health, safety, and environmental systems of our Alberta area Fuels sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with company, local, provincial, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical support to sites on health, safety, and environmental matters
  • Assist with driving implementation of corporate programs and policies
  • Develop and maintain corporate programs, policies, and procedures related to subject matter expertise
  • Provide support to business safety needs, including selection of PPE and training
  • Manage site safety coordinators and provide regular SSC meetings and training
  • Recommend control, correction, and continuous improvement of HSE issues and aspects
  • Assist in the execution of business HSE communication plans
  • Participate in design for safety/design safety review processes for projects
  • Execute risk reduction activities, including internal audit, risk assessment, and risk reduction
  • Act as the Upstream administrator for CompliantPro and MyLearning platforms
  • Participate in BV NA HSE Team meetings and HO meetings

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a Science discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum training and experience related to laboratory health and safety requirements
  • Strong proficiency in English communications
  • Strong analytical ability, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and varied information systems
  • Must have Alberta COR Certification or willing to get
  • 25% travel requirement within Canada
