- Assist with the orientation of new employees to ensure they understand company policies and procedures.
- Develop training materials to educate employees on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Review paperwork, including PSI, tailgate meetings, and safework procedures, to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain the environmental program to minimize the company's environmental footprint.
- Recognize and follow PCL and local legislative requirements to ensure compliance.
- Analyze site-specific trends and incidents and report findings to district management.
- Gather, review, and distribute safety-related statistical information to inform decision-making.
- Interpret, communicate, and reinforce project safety standards to the workforce.
- Able to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures.
- Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems that meet compliance.
- Able to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards.
- Able to determine the cause of an incident and initiate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong willingness to learn.
- Access to a clean, reliable vehicle.
