Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team at Dillon Consulting. As a key member of our environmental consulting group, you will be responsible for managing and leading projects related to contaminated site remediation and risk management.

Responsibilities

Project Management and Remediation

  1. Lead and manage projects related to contaminated site remediation and risk management, including phased environmental site assessments (ESAs) and the Ontario Record of Site Condition (RSC) process.
  2. Work with senior specialists and technical teams to develop remedial and risk management options for contaminated sites and brownfields.
  3. Manage and administer contracts related to remediation and risk management.
  4. Act as the main point of contact and client liaison to communicate technical and project management information to client teams.

Business Development

  1. Respond to Requests for Proposal related to contaminated sites work to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  2. Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  3. Provide leadership in the maintenance of existing client relationships, including preparation of proposals and statements of qualification.

Learning and Development

  1. Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
  2. Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.
  3. Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications

Requirements

  1. Designation as a Professional Engineer.
  2. A degree in environmental engineering or another relevant environmental or engineering discipline.
  3. Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industrial experience, including project management experience.
  4. In-depth knowledge of the required regulations governing contaminated sites and remediation.
Experience

Key Skills and Experience

  1. Proven experience managing multiple contaminated sites/ESA-related projects of various overall project value.
  2. Familiarity with various remediation technologies and approaches in different media, working with contractors.
  3. Solid understanding of the Environmental Protection Act, including regulations associated with brownfields, spills, and excess soils.
  4. Experience with industrial sites and First Nations communities.
  5. Strong understanding of contaminant fate and transport and development of conceptual site models to support remediation.
  6. Phased environmental site assessments (ESAs) and the Record of Site Condition (RSC) process in Ontario.
