Job Title: Senior Civil Design Engineer

At Montrose Environmental Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a variety of projects, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, construction, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering leadership for ongoing and expanding mining and energy sector project work related to water resources, ecological restoration, and environmental compliance objectives.
  • Collaborate directly with private and public sector clients, approval agencies, stakeholders, and sub-consultants.
  • Ensure client objectives and expectations are met, while maintaining project scope, budget, schedule, and technical quality.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, both as part of project execution and business development activities.
  • Manage the design, permitting, and construction of civil and water resources engineering projects, including stormwater management infrastructure, flood mitigation systems, infrastructure, and stream/natural channel rehabilitation.
Requirements:
  • Applied engineering experience in mining and/or energy sectors delivering design, permitting, and construction of civil and water resources engineering projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • 12+ years of engineering/project management experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of provincial and federal legislation in relation to the water resource sector.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD and industry-standard water resources modeling software would be an asset.
