About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and politically astute Associate Chief of Staff to support the Chief of Staff in managing the day-to-day operations of the office. This role involves solving problems, building relationships, and advancing the Métis Nation of Ontario's self-government, rights, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day needs of the Chief of Staff and Provincial Secretaries
  • Attend executive meetings and briefings, delivering progress reports on key issues and priorities
  • Build strong relationships with MNO Directors, staff, and elected officials
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of reports, presentations, and other materials to support decision-making and problem-solving
  • Proactively address complex matters and urgent issues, ensuring confidentiality and effective resolution
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or government leadership positions
  • Bachelor's degree or higher certification
  • Recent experience interacting with boards or councils at a senior leadership level
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in project management, leading and organizing projects
  • Superior organization, project-management, and time/priority-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve conflicts and manage challenging situations
  • Significant knowledge of Métis rights, governance, and policy issues
  • Bilingualism (considered an asset)
