About the Role

The successful candidate will have a degree in medicine and at least 5 years of experience in family medicine. They will be responsible for providing primary patient care, including consulting with other medical practitioners, prescribing and administering medications, and performing routine surgery. The specialist will also be required to inoculate and vaccinate patients, participate in health care policy and planning, and advise patients on healthcare matters.

Responsibilities
  • Provide primary patient care, including consultation and diagnosis.
  • Prescribe and administer medications as needed.
  • Perform routine surgery and assist in more complex procedures.
  • Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases.
  • Participate in health care policy and planning to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Advise patients on health care matters and provide support and guidance.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate primary patient care.
Requirements
  • Degree in medicine from a recognized institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience in family medicine.
  • College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP).
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
