Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to coordinate the development, implementation, and promotion of our quality, safety, health, and environment culture. The incumbent will also act as a resource person for coordinating and documenting training activities on the Coté Gold site. Our ideal candidate will influence and guide employees in QHSE activities and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and assist employees in taking responsibility for safety management;
  • Participate in setting departmental priorities and objectives;
  • Coordinate health and safety activities for the entire Coté Gold site;
  • Plan, participate in, and follow up on QHSE audits/visits/inspections and suggest improvements;
  • Work with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Actively participate in developing safe work processes in production, maintenance, and operational functions by targeting high-risk activities;
  • Develop and draft health and safety policies, work instructions, and regulations, and ensure their deployment and application;
  • Support functional supervisors and teams in conducting incident/accident investigations, determining causes, and proposing corrective measures;
  • Lead OHS meetings and inform employees about risks and hazards associated with tasks, positions, products, and equipment used, and the work environment;
  • Monitor QHSE best practices for continuous improvement of existing processes and procedures;
  • Participate in quality control systems and ISO standards;
  • Participate in quality analyses and controls in product manufacturing;
  • Ensure prevention plan activities are carried out;
  • Coordinate training activities required on the mine site;
  • Write safety and compliance work procedures;

Requirements
  • College or university training in occupational health and safety (OHS) prevention and management or an equivalent field;
  • 2-3 years' significant experience in occupational health and safety;
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards;
  • Knowledge of explosive products and legislation related to hazardous materials transportation (an asset);
  • A valid class 5 driver's license;
  • No legal impediments related to employment;
  • Ability to write and express oneself verbally in English;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000 CAD, based on industry standards and location. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour week, 4 days on and 3 days off. May require irregular hours and mobility for regular travel.
