Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.
The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**Manager, Sustainability**
The Manager, Sustainability is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the establishment, implementation and coordination of all activities in relation to workplace health, safety, industrial hygiene, emergency response, environment and security. This includes working directly with all internal departments, Corporate ESG, regulators and interested 3rd party providers.
**Key Responsibilities**
Area 1:
Workplace health, safety and sustainability management.
- Plan, organize, lead, coordinate and control activities related to workplace health & safety, industrial hygiene, emergency response, environment and security.
- Promote workplace health & safety and ensure that the regulations are known and applied by employees and contractors.
- Advise and support senior management, managers and employees regarding all aspects of workplace health & safety, hygiene, emergency response, environment and security.
- Develop performance measures and reporting systems in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, programs and procedures.
- Check and analyze performance on an ongoing basis and prepare relevant reports.
- Participate in the emergency plan and coordinate activities concerning the safety of the site.
- Supervise and direct employees of the Sustainability department. Build the team through selection and recruitment and conduct performance evaluations.
- Lead the risk and hazard identification and assessment program throughout the mine.
- Support and advise management and managers in implementing and maintaining the H&S management system.
Area 2:
Lead and direct employees of Sustainability Department.
- Identify strategies and key performance goals and acts as an advisor to direct reports.
- Work to overcome challenges and barriers and minimize risk.
- Set performance targets. Measure, monitor and manage overall performance of the function and direct reports.
- Build the capabilities of the team to enhance Health and Safety’s ability to achieve the financial and operating strategy.
- Hires appropriately, leverages the talent of the function and takes corrective action where necessary.
- Ensures there is a comprehensive and effective succession management strategy in place for the function; identify succession role requirements and high potential talent and actively develops key talent.
- Build the team through selection and recruitment and conduct performance evaluations.
**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- College diploma in a related field, preference for university degree or certificate.
- Formal professional designation in applicable area of expertise (i.e. CRSP designation)
Work experience - Nature & Length
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Experience in health, safety, industrial hygiene, risk, emergency response, security and environment in the mining industry.
- Budget creation and management experience required.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
