We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring, as well as analyzing and interpreting test results.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ECG testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring to diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure a smooth testing process.
- Analyze and interpret test results to provide accurate diagnoses and recommendations.
- Assist with pacemaker interrogation, monitoring, and documentation as required.
- Enter patient test information into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
- Provide training and orientation to new staff and students on ECG testing procedures and equipment operation.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items as required, and complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
- Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and update of department policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level, plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting equipment as required.
