About the Opportunity

Join Fraser Health as a Pacemaker Technologist, where you will play a vital role in delivering medical cardiology services.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager or Supervisor, you will perform pacemaker analysis and programming, assist with implant procedures, and provide interpretations of test results.

Detailed Responsibilities

  1. Review and maintain patient records, including vital signs and pacemaker details.
  2. Perform pacemaker analysis and programming in clinics, operating rooms, or other hospital areas, and assist with implant procedures.
  3. Conduct various tests, such as Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring, and provide interpretations of results.
  4. Monitor pacemaker functions, report abnormalities, and respond to queries.
  5. Participate in the development and review of standards, procedures, and instructional materials for pacemaker services.
  6. Assist in the training and orientation of staff and residents in pacemaker functions and programming.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level, plus successful completion of a recognized pacemaker specialty exam, plus two (2) years recent related experience. Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certification is required.
