Pacemaker Technologist Job Description

As a Pacemaker Technologist at Fraser Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to perform pacemaker analysis and programming, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pacemaker analysis and programming to correct values/optimal settings
  • Assist surgeons during implant procedures in the operating room
  • Conduct a variety of tests, including Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter, and pacemaker programming/monitoring
  • Monitor cardiac pacemakers and notify cardiologists of abnormalities
  • Provide interpretations, analyses, and test/summary reports as required
  • Participate in the development and review of standards, procedures, and instructional material relevant to pacemaker services
  • Assist in the training and orientation of staff and Surgery/Cardiology Residents in pacemaker functions and programming
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level
  • Successful completion of a recognized pacemaker specialty exam
  • Two years recent related experience
  • Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified
