About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our team at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, maintenance, evolution, and enhancement of the Information Management (IM) functions at CMHC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain information governance processes and frameworks to ensure effective data management and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to empower teams to make responsible decisions around their data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Ensure the corporate information governance practices, controls, and deliverables adhere to and are consistent with CMHC's policies and regulations.
  • Monitor, measure, and categorize data and information quality issues, and deal with remedial actions expeditiously.
  • Integrate proper security considerations into data lifecycle frameworks, IM processes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in computer science, finance, legal, or commerce, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and systems thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • An excellent ability to understand and align technical solutions to business goals.
  • The ability to work with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data governance and management tools, preferably Collibra/Informatica.
