Job Summary:

At CSA Group, our Project Managers play a critical role in facilitating the development or revision of standards deliverables, leading committees, and managing membership and stakeholder relations. This role leads all aspects of standards activities, within project timelines and budgets, as required by CSA Group directives. This role will be accountable for managing multiple standards development committees comprised of volunteer members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding the Business:
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, government policies, and environmental factors that impact our business.
    • Identify potential areas of new business opportunity, such as new standards requirements or training programs.
    • Understand and explain the Standards funding model specific to their area of expertise.
    • Apply industry knowledge to ensure project timelines are achieved within a defined budget.
  • Working Well with Others:
    • Engage and manage a diverse stakeholder community, including volunteers, industry experts, consumers, academia, and regulators.
    • Coordinate with other departments within CSA Group to ensure successful development and publication of standards and business opportunities.
    • Work effectively as part of a team or represent CSA Group with clients, customers, or external groups.
  • Delivering Results:
    • Deliver high-quality results on assigned targets, objectives, or goals, on or slightly ahead of deadlines.
    • Manage volunteer members of standards development committees to develop technical content, writing, and high-quality documents.
    • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and draft standards within identified project timelines and budgets.
    • Determine and manage resources required to complete projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
    Requirements:
    • Technologist or technical degree (CET, BSc or B.Eng)
    • 3-5 years' experience in Standards Development or Project Management
    • Problem resolution skills to deliver high-quality and timely service
    • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead a diverse team
    • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
    • Conflict resolution skills to deal with committee members
    • Proven experience in influencing volunteer committee members
    • Experience in writing proposals, business plans, and technical documents
    • Strong organizational and planning skills
    • Customer satisfaction focus
    • Computer proficiency
