Student Experience Officer

Northern Lights College is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Student Experience Officer on our Dawson Creek campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a student engagement plan to create a vibrant atmosphere of student life on campus.
  • Coordinate student orientations and other events to support students' start of semester experience and enhance their overall experience while at NLC.
  • Work within a budget to facilitate event planning, including sending invitations, coordinating speakers and performers, and coordinating with other departments and volunteers.
  • Provide budget guidance to the campus-based Student Council Treasurer and offer secretarial services to the local campus student council as needed.
  • Collaborate with other staff and departments to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • A certificate or diploma in event planning with two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to make presentations to groups and build working relationships with other staff and departments.
  • A high level of energy and organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certification, with a valid class 5 driver's license.
