Job Summary:

The Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of construction equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Prioritize repair requirements and schedule to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Inspect and test repaired equipment to ensure work meets operational performance and safety standards.
  • Evaluate equipment parts for reuse, repair, or replacement.
  • Document time, parts used, and repairs completed in shop system.
  • Ensure shop, tools, and equipment are kept safe, clean, and organized.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Occasional travel to job sites to assist field mechanics on large jobs.
  • Discuss preventative techniques with drivers/operators to minimize future repairs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience with heavy equipment.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and technical aptitude.
  • Troubleshooting and decision-making.
  • Reading, writing, and numeracy.
  • Works well with a team or independently.
  • Solid work ethic and safety-minded.
  • Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proactive and resourceful.
  • Valid G licence and clean abstract.
