Job Summary

Cementation Canada is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanical Leader to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Safety
    • Ensure all work is performed under safe work conditions and procedures are followed.
    • Support project personnel in identifying and correcting unsafe situations.
    • Communicate near misses and other safety-related information to the company.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as required to heavy duty equipment.
    • Prepare specifications and initiate procurement of equipment and parts.
    • Consult with project superintendents on non-routine repairs and maintenance.
  • Equipment Inspections and Maintenance
    • Perform daily equipment inspections, including greasing and topping up of lubricants and fluids.
    • Perform all required preventative maintenance at the required intervals.
  • Diagnostic Testing and Troubleshooting
    • Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance reports and documentation.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Valid Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Journeyman Certificate or other relevant trade certificate.
    • Full Basic Underground Common Core.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of work-related experience as a licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
    • Knowledgeable with hydraulic, pneumatic, and DC electrical control systems to a maximum of 50 volts DC.
    • Ability to work with little supervision and prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
