Compassionate Nurse Leader for Complex Care

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at PHSA. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct trauma-informed care services to clients with diverse needs, including communicable diseases, substance dependency, mental health issues, and general health concerns.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, collect specimens, refer clients to physicians, administer prescribed treatments, and make adjustments as needed.
- Triage Health Service Requests from clients, create treatment plans, and refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Observe, monitor, evaluate, assess, and document client progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes, utilizing nursing skills and medical equipment.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care/services to patients with physical, psychiatric, and/or concurrent substance abuse/misuse disorders.
- Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or OFA III techniques for positions at Ford Mountain Correctional Centre.
- Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, communicable diseases, primary care, and practice within a patient/family-centered approach.
- Knowledge of BCCNM's Standards for Nursing Practice, BC Mental Health Act, and other facilities and community resources.
- A competitive salary range of $83,505 - $107,169 per year, depending on experience.
