Nurse Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Care Specialist to join our team at RhynoCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Deal with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Respect each resident as an individual and be aware of their need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about their care.
- Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
- Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests).
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Clear Criminal Record check.
- All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
