Job Opportunity for Middle School Educators

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan) as Middle School Educators for Grades 6-9.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement BC's Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Participate in the implementation of the school level Collaborative Model of Support and work to develop the School District Attributes for the 21st Century in all students.
  • Use technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction, and reporting purposes.
  • Work positively towards the fulfillment of the School and District goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • A strong background in middle school philosophy, core values, and educational practices.
  • Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students.
  • Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices, such as differentiated instruction, criterion-referenced grading, and Assessment For, As, and Of Learning.
  • Additional professional experience and/or post-secondary courses in adolescent learning.
  • A strong interest in innovation and inquiry.
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).
