We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join our team as a Middle School Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement BC's Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum in a collaborative/team environment.
- Participate in the implementation of the school level Collaborative Model of Support and develop the School District Attributes for the 21st Century.
- Use technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction, and reporting purposes.
- Work positively towards the fulfillment of the School and District goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Strong background in middle school philosophy, core values, and educational practices.
- Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students.
- Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices, such as differentiated instruction, criterion-referenced grading, and Assessment For, As, and Of Learning.
- Additional professional experience and/or post-secondary courses in adolescent learning.
- Strong interest in innovation and inquiry.
- Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).
Requirements:
- British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
- Undergrad degree and Bachelor of Education degree along with corresponding transcripts.
- BC teaching certificate and TQS card.
- Practicum or evaluation reports.
- Letters of reference.
Compensation:
The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
