About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at RhynoCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our patients in a variety of long-term and acute care facilities in the Nickel Centre area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Nursing Care
    • Deliver nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner.
    • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure Resident Care
    • Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
    • Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Manage Medications
    • Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess and Evaluate
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible shift times, depending on the facility, eight (8) or twelve (12) hours in length.
  • Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Must be reliable (once availability is given) to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy (provided for review upon hiring).
