Key Responsibilities- Deliver High-Quality Nursing Care
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
- Ensure Resident Safety and Well-being
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Manage Medications and Supplies
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
- Ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV) and negative TB skin test within one year as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible shift times, eight or twelve hours in length.
- Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Must be reliable to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
- Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
