Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at RhynoCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to our residents in a variety of long-term and acute care facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver High-Quality Nursing Care
    • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
    • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Ensure Resident Safety and Well-being
    • Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
    • Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Manage Medications and Supplies
    • Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
    • Ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care
    • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV) and negative TB skin test within one year as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible shift times, eight or twelve hours in length.
  • Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Must be reliable to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
