We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Survey building locations and levels
- Estimate costs and materials
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions. The ability to work at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors is essential.
Requirements:- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in carpentry or a related field
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting
