About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our financial systems team. This will involve developing and implementing strategies for corporate financial management business processes and practices, as well as providing expert advice and guidance on matters relating to financial systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and IT, with experience in leading and managing IT projects and business process improvements. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to leadership and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for corporate financial management business processes and practices
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on matters relating to financial systems
  • Lead and manage IT projects and business process improvements
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for financial systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs
Requirements
  • University degree in finance, commerce, or business administration
  • Considerable experience leading an operational IT unit, including leading, mentoring and coaching team members, managing capital and O&M budgets, and developing service delivery strategies
  • Considerable progressive experience leading and managing small and large-scale IT projects and business process improvements from project feasibility studies to evaluation, preferably in a finance setting
  • Experience working with financial information systems and applying proper governance and compliance is an asset
  • Experience carrying out procurement activities for system projects and support, ideally in a government setting, is an asset
