Job Title:

Program Director for Roads and Highways

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Program Director to lead our Roads and Highways team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in highway engineering, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of professionals in the design and delivery of large-scale road infrastructure projects.
  2. Develop and execute business plans for civil roads and highways.
  3. Manage and build a highways engineering team and portfolio of clients.
  4. Act as a Project Manager and/or Team leader in relevant projects, tasks, and other assignments.
  5. Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for clients.
  6. Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work to achieve project objectives.
  7. Maintain awareness of trends, developments, and advancements in relevant fields to retain technical competency.
  8. Represent the company with clients and selected subcontractors during project execution.
  9. Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
  10. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  11. Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  12. Provide direction and management for every phase of significant projects or programs to assure on schedule completion within or below budget.
  13. Mobilize company resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
  14. Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
  15. Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in budgets, schedules, and plans.
  16. Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field).
  2. 20+ years of relevant technical experience, including 8 years of successful technical leadership and project management experience.
  3. Significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel.
  4. Demonstrated ability and experience in training, mentoring, motivating, leading, and supervising a team of highly qualified professional staff.
  5. Excellent understanding of relevant highway engineering issues and stakeholders' requirements.
  6. Proficient in the application of specialized engineering and assessments software.
