Job Overview

Bureau Veritas Laboratories is committed to delivering exceptional quality and service in the field of testing, inspection, and certification services. We are seeking an experienced Metals Analyst to join our team in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

About the Role:

  • Metals Analyst - Advanced laboratory position covering a variety of responsibilities that require knowledge of chemistry and laboratory procedures.
  • Responsible for coordination of mechanical prep crush workload.
  • Proficient in all trace metal sample digest procedures and in leachate extraction methods - provide back-up capabilities and assistance where needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ICP-MS instrument sample preparation and act as a back-up analyst for the mercury workstation.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and ensure strict adherence to procedures.
  • Prepare trace metal digestions for soils, solids, biota, air quality filters, and waters for complex analytical instrumentation (ICP/MS).
  • Coordinate all mechanical prep crush activities; ensure equipment maintenance is complete.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.Sc., technical diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Trace Metals Analysis preferred
