We are a leading construction company seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Construction Assistant.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 CAD, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for assisting our experienced construction crew members with various tasks related to construction site operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials to and from job sites;
  • Performing pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order;
  • Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt;
  • Assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs;
  • Paving and raking asphalt;
  • Cleaning and piling salvaged materials;
  • Operating dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines;
  • Performing routine maintenance work;
  • Cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants;
  • Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A strong physical presence, able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly;
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
  • Reliability and dependability;
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime when required.
